A ton of maize, as at the time of reply, is averaging approximately, at the farm gate, $273.00 (GHC 1,200.00).
We do not know any South African in farming or consultation.

I want to visit Ghana with a friend to look at farming in general. The yields for example maize, looks very low bearing in mind the rainfall and climate. I think it must be a magic place to farm! How much is a ton of maize in us dollars? Do you know of any South Africans involved in farming or consultation? Any suggestions? Greetings Louis

I am an ex farmer from South Africa. I farmed commercially in the Free State province with maize,wheat,peanuts sunflower and potatoes.I also farmed with cattle and sheep and raised chickens and planted veggies for own use. I met somebody today and started talking about farming in Ghana and that is how I got onto your website. Very very interesting!
