Spraying over the top only helps to control moths, ended up removing the nozzle from the knapsack sprayer and dribbling the chemical down the funnel to ensure contact with the worm. I used the chemical acephate at double strength with this method and got very good results. When applying you need to spil the mixture around the whole plant as the chemical runs down it will also affect the egg laying area of the moths on lower leaves.
