Getting food poison is no fun. One of my most memorable food poisoning experiences was when I was visiting Acra in 2002. I ate lunch in a hotel called the Palomino Hotel. Soup with goat ribs In it and Fufu. About 45 minutes later I realized that I needed to get back to my room quickly because my stomach was acting poorly. After I got back to my room I was so sick I needed to stay near a toilet for the next 3 days. I could have died actually looking back on this because I did not visit a doctor. Even after the 3 day’s near a toilet I never did recover 100% for a few weeks. I have also had experiences similar to this in Panama. Several times. Once I was sick for several months from food poisoning and needed several visits to the Doctors office to finally get better. Food poisoning is serious business. By the way, it is common in Panama to leave food out all day. No one seems to worry about getting left-overs refridgerated here. Food poisoning is a huge problem and can be deadly to those with weak immune systems and the elderly. I do not know why this issue is not taken seriously.
