In fact, some seeds are taken through a similar process to pre-germinate them before they are planted in the field.

The conditions for seeds to germinate do not include nutrients.
In other words, seeds do not need nutrients (external) to germinate.

Yes, you can. But why would you want to use compost, rabbit droppings and sawdust?
The rabbit droppings must be well decomposed and the sawdust must be free from plant diseases. Vegetables are delicate crops.
