We are considering a+ 100 ha plus agroforestry cocoa project, banana’s as shade has been suggested, my concern is that banana’s deplete the soil of nutrients at a high rate, fertiliser’s are expensive, are the economics viable

In reply to Torbor Abe Zoekargo. No, it is not advisable. We recommend that as much as possible, do not burn after clearing. There are many advantages to that. You can read more on Slash and Burn. Thank you.
